Pink Patent Leather Boots …

8 Dec

So I’m pretty much obsessed with patent leather boots and I’ve been wanting a pink pair , but it’s not exactly in my budget to get the real Doc Martens right now . So I found these pink boots at DTLR for only $30 . The only problem was that the bottom rubber part of the shoe was a tan color that I was not to fond of . I thought the bottoms would look better in black , so I took it upon myself to spray paint them . It was such a fun and experimental DIY project . Here are the steps I took and the nice outcome .

Step 1 : Tape around the boots with painters tape . Make sure to use painters tape because it comes off smoothly and doesnt stick .

Step 2 : Put some newspaper down or some sort covering to cover the area of the ground that you will be doing this on .

Step 3 : Get your spray paint out , shake , and start the spraying !

Step 4 : When your finished , let them dry and your done !

Now you have cute pink boots : ) or whatever color you chose to get …

(halfway into taping around one shoe , I realized that I hadn’t taken any before pictures of the shoes , so that’s the reason there is only pictures of one shoe and not both)

From Jeans to Shorts …

1 May

Turning a pair of jeans into a new pair of shorts is always a fun project to do. It doesn’t require much at all. Just get a pair of jeans that you wouldn’t mind cutting and have some scissors at hand and just start cutting away. You can fold the jeans and cut both legs together at the same time , or you can do one leg first and then match it up with the other and cut using the already cut leg as a guide. Either way is pretty effective. I chose to do one at a time. You go from winter to summer in just a few minuets :  ) You can always add your own touches once your done cutting , like Cuffing the bottoms , throwing them in the washer and dryer to give the ends that frilly cut up look , you can add patches from the other jean materials , you can make some more cuts and holes in them, and etc. Whatever meets your style go for it!
